About the Founder

Hi, my name is Caroline Cannon and I am currently a high

school student. Over the recent years I have developed a

love for medicine and the good of our community. Through

inspiration and role models, I have decided to take initiative

on what I believe is important. I take part in my school's blood

drive club, Ignite club, music honor society club, donation  club,

and band. I play the clarinet, play tennis, and take part in

competitive trap shooting. I volunteer at a local soup kitchen,

church events, and a free medical clinic. I plan to go to medical

school, and currently I have an interest in psychology and neuroscience.

My Story

When I was 7 years old, I woke up with a throbbing white patch on the cornea of my eye. 9 years later, I still suffer with this extremely rare eye condition, a form of keratoconjunctivitis where lipid spills into my cornea creating ulcers. Most who suffer with high levels of pain, impaired vision, and no known cure just accept the fact, but not me. The journey from doctor to doctor up and down the East Coast of the United States has not been easy, but the environment I have constantly been surrounded by has been an inspiration, rather than a limitation. The difficulty of finding solutions has given me a change of perspective, leading me to have the desire to help others find hope and faith. Never give up, take the challenge as an opportunity.
